Our youngest son, Josiah, convinced us to get into raising chickens a few years ago. This photo is of him holding one baby chick from our first batch in 2009. We currently have 46 laying hens and 1 rooster that roam our yard and eat everything they can! The hens produce approximately 2 dozen eggs per day. They are fun to watch and very friendly! This is a completely unrelated post to my blog but thought I'd share more about our family!
