Heart 2 Heart Week 3
Happy 70th birthday Mom!!! I created her card to use for the week 3 Heart 2 Heart Challenge with an emphasis on creating something "distressed."
I used my CTMH edge distresser on each sheet of Florentine B&T paper and I made the flowers with the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and my Cricut and then I literally crushed the flowers to give them a wrinkled/distressed look.
The base is made from CTMH Cocoa cardstock. The Florentine paper was sewn by machine. The Cricut cut the numbers, flowers, leaves and tag. I stamped the circle with 3rd generation stamping using the March:Potential Stamp of the Month stamp set. I also used the CTMH stamp set Card Chatter - Birthday for the tag and the bottom of the circle.
The leaves, numbers and top banner were made from Cocoa cardstock. I used the Big Shot and an SU embossing folder to give it texture and dimension. I sponged the paper after it ran through with cocoa ink to just add more texture. The leaves were scored to add veining with a Scorpal board.
My inside sentiment is from a Verve stamp set. The inside sheet was also edge distressed and sponged with CTMH Goldrush ink. The numbers were mounted with 3D tape and I added some mocha opaques for a feminine touch:-)
This is my beautiful mom!
We had a birthday lunch with family after church today to celebrate her special day and now that my parents have officially moved to our city we might make these Sunday afternoon meals together a new tradition!
Enjoy the rest of the day!
