Mojo Monday #283

It's contest week at the Mojo Monday Blogspot and here's the sketch for this week:
It's a pretty simple sketch and I used the new Surf's Up paper packet and the fun stamp set
Just Chillin that looks like this:

Here's my card:
This card reminds me of summer and the paper pack is super fun for a beach-theme. I added some gems to the flip-flops and a bow with Baker's Twine (chocolate) to the umbrella. I used Sorbet and Chocolate ink from CTMH.

The flip flops & umbrella are mounted with 3-D foam tape. I left the inside blank:

Mojo Monday #280

I am late on getting my card posted for the Mojo Monday challenge but here it is. The sketch for this week looks like this:

Here's my version using some older paper from My Mind's Eye Love Me collection:

There are a lot of layers for this week's challenge and also a fair amount of sewing. I used my sewing machine for the stitching:

The Cricut and my CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge cut the hearts:

I added a very tiny ribbon that I created using a Pinterest link. You can find out how to make these teeny tiny ribbons by going here to my Pinterest board or here if you don't have a Pinterest account.

The inside sentiment is from the NEW CTMH stamp set called Joyful Birthday (B1419)

Here's a view from my back window today. After the 16" of snowfall and blizzard we had Sunday and Monday, it was beautiful to see the sun shining across the land:

Mojo Monday #279

It's contest week at the Mojo Monday Blogspot. This week's sketch was designed by Julee Tilman (owner of Verve Stamps).

I wanted to use some of the new CTMH For Always paper pack. It has beautiful black & white patterns that can accented with bright colors for a bit of contrast on your paper crafting projects.
I started with a black cardstock base:
Layered white cardstock and then lots of layers of the new "For Always". I chose CTMH sunflower for some bright contrast.
The cricut cut my flower, leaves, flourish and ovals.
The pearl opaques add a soft touch.

Mojo Monday #278

It's Mojo Monday sketch time....have you created a card using the sketch this week? You can link your card design right here.
This week's sketch looks like this:

You can choose to create a round or square card and I usually choose the square look but I switched things up a bit this week and went with the round design. I started with a CTMH Whisper cardstock base that was cut at 5" with the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and my Cricut. Then I added a circle layer cut at 4 1/2" with the same cartridge cut from CTMH smoothie cardstock.
The inside circle was cut at 4" and layered with Smoothie and Lagoon cardstock. The sentiment is from the CTMH Cricut Artiste Collection Birthday (D1529). I used the Big Shot with an embossing folder for the single line of raised dots.
There are lots of layers for this week's sketch so I used some retired "Dotty For You" paper that was on special a while back through CTMH, along with white, and lagoon cardstock. The ribbon is wired and has a silver shimmery look (not sure where that ribbon came from.)
The balloons were stamped using one of the CTMH Artiste stamp sets. They were stamped in Whisper and Lagoon ink. The scalloped circle was cut from a 2" scallop punch and then I layered with a 1 1/2" circle in Lagoon and a 1 1/4" circle stamped using the Perfect Fit-Birthday stamp set (B1417). It comes with several adorable birthday sentiments and will be available starting February 1, 2013. Here's a look at all the images that come in this set:
Here's a closer look. The ribbon was attached using a glue dot and the pennants were sanded on the edges to reveal the white core.

Mojo Monday #275

This week's Mojo Monday sketch is featuring a sketch by Julee:

My card is 5" x 6.25" white cardstock base and it uses CTMH smoothie, desert sand and chocolate cardstock as well as the CTMH Dotty for You (now retired) paper. I embellished a bit more than the sketch because I thought it needed a bit more to make it extra festive!

I made this card for my adorable niece, Andrea, that is turning 16 tomorrow. I can hardly believe what a young lady she is becoming. I took senior photos of her brother (my nephew) this past summer and she was hoping that I could take "a few" photos of her. Turns out she had multiple clothing changes and tons of ideas so we did a full-blown photo shoot! It was pretty fun!

The inside sentiment is from the CTMH stamp set "Party Pennants" (C1429).
Here's a close-up. I used the Stamp of the Month set from Jan. 2012 called "Little Reminder" (S1201) and the pennants are stamped using "Fill in the Blank" (D1465) and "Party Pennants" also from CTMH:

Have a great week!

Mojo Monday #272

Exciting news.... I became a great aunt again yesterday to a 10# 3 oz. baby boy. My niece Anna's first child and he was a big baby! Both mom and baby are doing well!

For this week's Mojo Monday sketch I chose a baby card theme:

I chose a grey wool cardbase with chocolate and honey cardstock. The stamp sets were from CTMH called : Zoology and For Every Occasion.

Mojo Monday #267

Better late than never is becoming a new motto for me. Hopefully it doesn't stick around:-) The week is flying by and it's Wednesday already and I wanted to participate in this week's Mojo "Monday" challenge by Julee Tilman. Here's the sketch:
I chose a white cardstock base with a unique color pallette of CTMH chocolate, Pacifica, Honey & Crystal Blue. The sentiment is from the stamp set 4 My Friend.

The flower was cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge from CTMH and the edge punch was from SU. Thanks for stopping by!

Using all CTMH products and the CTMH stamp set: American Celebration!
We are truly blessed to have the freedom to vote in our country and I'm thankful to God that we still have people striving to be "One nation, under God!"

Mojo Monday #265

This week's sketch at the Mojo Monday Blogspot looks like this:
I chose a pretty simple take on the Mojo Monday sketch. I didn't use the square option but I think this will work anyways. I used my CTMH Cricut "Artiste" cartridge to cut the snowflake and then layered B&T (background & texture) paper for the rest. The look is fast and simple. I hope you try the Mojo Monday sketch too!
If you like the ability to personalize your cards November's Stamp of the Month has all the months and numbers for you to make it very personalized by the date.
Also in November, CTMH is running a special promotion if you purchase $50 in retail product and the November SOTM "Capture the Date", you can choose a stamp set for 1/2 off. Certain sets are excluded, check my previous post for more details.

Mojo Monday #264

It's with a heavy heart that I share this card. Our friend's had to say goodbye to their daughter/sister early today. Due to a car accident, dear, sweet Claire was ejected from the family's van during a roll-over and she was able to survive with the help of life support for one week but went home to Heaven today. She was 11 years old and will be missed by friends and family! She's dancing in Heaven today!
Here's the Mojo Monday sketch for this week:

My card is a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" colonial white cardstock base. I used the B&T paper pack from My Mind's Eye: Lost & Found 2: Rosy collection.
The inside sentiment is from the Verve stamp set "Forever in Our Hearts". Which is fitting for our community because those who knew Claire will definitely have her sweet spirit in our hearts forever!
The flowers were made by the Art Philosophy cartridge and the Cricut and I added a red grosgrain ribbon for a pop of color. I used "Hodge Podge Alphabet" for creating her name.

Mojo Monday #258

I'm so slow on getting to this week's Mojo Monday challenge. Life has gotten a bit hectic so I've taken a rather lengthy break from crafting (sad to say)!
This week's sketch was created by Julee Tilman and it's clean and simple:

For my entry I chose the new CTMH "Moonlight" paper pack. I love the plum tones that it has. For the stamp set, I chose this month's Stamp of the Month set called "Fall Favorites" It's a terrific set and I have a picture of it on my last post that you can check out! Spend $50 this month and this set can be purchased for just $5 more!
I used a blending pen with my chocolate, olive and autumn terracotta ink pads to color in the pumpkin image. The "fall" words were stamped in chocolate ink.
The button is from years ago and I don't remember where I got it from. The new CTMH Harvest baker's twine was used to make the bow.
